On the morning of June 15, while riding to work, my life changed in an instant. A driver ran a stop sign, and I collided with her vehicle. Law enforcement determined that she was at fault, but unfortunately, she carries only the minimum insurance coverage required by the State of Florida.

The crash left me with serious injuries. I suffered a broken arm, a broken collarbone, injuries to my lung, multiple broken bones in my foot, a broken nose, and my tooth went through my lip. Because of the severity of my injuries, I was airlifted to a trauma center in Orlando.

The motorcycle I was riding was totaled, and because the at-fault driver has such limited insurance coverage, there will be no funds available to replace or repair it. While my motorcycle can be replaced someday, right now my focus is healing and making it through the months ahead.

After spending time in the hospital, I am finally home recovering, but my doctors have told me I will be unable to work for at least the next two months. Like so many others, I live paycheck to paycheck, and this unexpected tragedy has created a financial burden that I simply wasn't prepared for.

One of the hardest parts of this situation is knowing it doesn't just affect me. I live with my grandmother to help care for her, and I contribute $300 each month toward our household expenses. Without that income, she will also struggle because of a crash that was completely out of our control.

It's incredibly difficult for me to ask for help. I've always tried to handle things on my own, but right now I don't have that luxury. If possible, I would also like to use a small portion of any funds raised to repair my second motorcycle so I can sell it. That would help provide additional financial stability while I recover and get back on my feet.

If you're able to make a donation, no matter the amount, it would mean more than I can express. And if you're not in a position to give, simply sharing my fundraiser with your family and friends would be an incredible gift.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for your kindness, your prayers, and your support. Every donation, every share, and every encouraging message helps carry me one step closer to recovery. When I am healthy again and back on my feet, I hope to pay this generosity forward and help someone else facing a difficult time, just as so many of you are helping me today. Thank you to @bikerdownfoundation for hosting this fundraiser for me.
