Our son, Cruz, is just 17 years old — a tall, strong young man at 6’5”, but always our baby. He grew up with a passion for motorcycles from a young age, and the joy he found in riding has always been a huge part of his life. Over the past year, Cruz also discovered a deep love for music. He taught himself to play the piano and now plays beautifully on one of his grand pianos — one at his dad’s house and one at his mom’s. Not many kids get that blessing, and we are so grateful for every note we’ve heard him play.
Last Friday afternoon, Cruz was involved in a head-on collision while riding his motorcycle. He was rushed to Medical Center of the Rockies, where he has remained in critical condition ever since. He has multiple broken bones, collapsed lungs, and, most concerning, a serious brain injury. Doctors have placed him in an induced coma as his body fights to heal. They expect he will remain in the ICU for at least a month before eventually beginning a long journey of rehabilitation and recovery.
Cruz is an incredibly loyal friend, and that love is being returned tenfold right now. He has an army of friends and family rallying behind him, offering prayers, love, and support in every way possible. He has always been hardworking and dedicated — especially to his job helping run an estate sale company alongside his best friend, Phoenix. Being unable to work will be very hard for him, but we know his determination will carry him through.
Our family isn’t used to asking for help, but so many have reached out wanting to support Cruz during this unimaginable time. The funds raised will go toward helping his family during these long weeks in the hospital and toward Cruz’s future recovery needs.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for your prayers, love, and kindness. Every message, visit, and donation means more to us than words can ever say. We are praying for healing and holding onto faith that God has a plan for our giant baby boy. This fundraiser is being hosted by BikerDown Colorado, and donors can also contribute the fees, so that Cruz gets 100% of the funds. BikerDown helps injured motorcycle riders and has been a help to our family through this trying time.

BikerDown is offering social media fundraising to our accident victims and their families. 100% of your donation goes to the family, all donors can add the credit card processing fees to your donation to help BikerDown continue to host these fundraisers.
