On June 10th, I was traveling down a road with no signage to slow or stop, and I had a clear path. Along this road, there was a gas station. It’s entrance and exit merged directly onto the road that I was traveling on someone leaving the gas station who was not paying attention and did not look to see if there was oncoming traffic pulled out right as I was about to pass doing about 50 to 60 miles an hour, I instantly collided with the driver side of their car and ejected 25 feet. I am still in the hospital with a femur that’s fractured and three spots, an arm that has multiple compound fractures, a shattered wrist, and all kinds of other broken bones. I was recently transferred to a rehab facility.
I am unclear about how long I will be released or when I will be able to return to work. I am not sure how I will survive this recovery and have a home to go home to without asking for help from my friends, family, and biker community. The bike is done and unfixable. I am so banged up that it will take months of rehab and work to get to my job. I want to try to keep a roof over my head. I know these pictures are hard to see, but the severity of my situation dictates that I share with you just how bad my injuries are.
